Prepwork LLC (“Prepwork”, “we”) is an Arizona company that makes software for meal prep businesses: an online menu and checkout, order and delivery tools, and customer texting. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers prepwork.io, the Prepwork app, and the online stores that businesses run on Prepwork.

Two kinds of people use Prepwork

Business owners, their kitchen staff and their drivers use Prepwork to run the business. Their customers order from a store built on Prepwork. When a business collects its customers' information through Prepwork, that business decides what it collects and why, and we store and process it on the business's behalf. Each store has its own privacy page for its customers, linked from its menu.

What we collect

• Account details. Your name, email, mobile number and password. Passwords are stored in scrambled form; we can't read them.
• Business data. Your business name, address, logo, menu, prices, delivery areas and dates, settings, and the records your business creates in Prepwork: orders, subscriptions, routes, texts, coupons, gift cards, store credit and reports.
• Customer data processed for businesses. When someone orders from a store on Prepwork, the store collects their name, email, mobile number, delivery address and instructions, order history, and the texts exchanged with the store. We hold it for the business.
• Payments. Card payments are handled by Stripe. Card numbers go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers. A store's Stripe account may keep a card on file so a customer can pay faster next time.
• Texting and calls. Texts and forwarded calls go through Twilio, so message content, phone numbers and delivery status pass through Twilio's systems.
• Usage data and cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in. On prepwork.io we use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and a few clicks (such as which button was tapped) without cookies and without identifying you. The homepage also uses Google Analytics, which sets a cookie, to count visits and clicks. Our servers keep standard logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
• Demo bookings and messages. If you book a demo, we keep your name, email, phone, business name and the time you picked, and Zoom creates the video call. If you text or email us, we keep the conversation.

How we use it

To run the service: take and deliver orders, bill the business, send order and delivery texts, plan routes and show reports. To support you: answer questions, fix problems and understand which features get used. To bill: charge the business's saved card for its monthly plan and texting balance. To keep Prepwork safe: prevent abuse and keep the records the law requires. We don't use a store's customer data to market to those customers ourselves.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that help us run Prepwork, and only for that purpose: Stripe (payments and payouts), Twilio (texts and calls), Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Resend (email), Google Maps (turning addresses into map points and planning delivery routes) and Zoom (demo video calls). Each is bound by its own terms to protect the data. We also share information when the law requires it, or to protect Prepwork, our users or others. If Prepwork is ever sold or merged, this data would move with it and this policy would still apply. We never sell personal information.

Mobile numbers and text consent

We do not sell or share your mobile number, or your consent to receive texts, with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone else. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; all other sharing described on this page excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent.

Text messages

Businesses on Prepwork text their customers from their own number, and each business is responsible for the texts it sends. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts from that store, START to turn them back on, and HELP for help. If you text Prepwork directly, we'll reply by text. Message and data rates may apply.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep information while an account is active and for as long as we need it to run the service, settle payments and meet legal and tax obligations. A business can export its customers and orders at any time, and can ask us to close its account and delete its data. A store's customer can ask that store, or us, to delete their information. We'll do it unless we have to keep a record, such as a payment record, and we'll tell you if so.

Security

Data travels encrypted. Each business's data is kept separate from every other business's. Passwords are scrambled, card numbers never reach our servers, and access is limited to the people who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure; if you think something is wrong, tell us.

Children

Prepwork is for businesses and adults. It isn't directed at anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

When this policy changes we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters to how we handle your information, we'll email business owners.
